People take CBD for all sorts of different reasons. You might take your CBD for anxiety relief, to alleviate pain, or to reduce inflammation. Some people also take CBD for sleep. But what if you use your CBD for other reasons, and you don't want to feel sleepy? Here are a few tips to help you harness those other benefits without feeling like you need a nap.
Look for an energizing formula.
Visit a local CBD store, and take a closer look at some of the products. You may find some CBD products that are labeled as "energizing." These are products made with strains of hemp that contain terpenes — aromatic compounds — that interact with the CBD and may help to keep you more energized. Some of the terpenes present may include limolene and linalool. Both of these have a citrus-like aroma, which is naturally energizing. They may also have a mild, caffeine-like effect for some people.
Reduce your dose a little.
If you are using a really high dose of CBD, that could be contributing to your feelings of tiredness. Try lowering your dose a little. You may be able to arrive at a perfect dose that gives you the other effects you're looking for without making you feel so sleepy. For instance, if you are currently using 12 drops of your CBD, try taking 9 or 10 instead.
Switching to a less-potent CBD formula can help, too. If you are currently using 2,000 mg CBD oil, for example, consider switching to a 1,000 mg CBD oil, which should be half the potency assuming you buy the same size bottle.
Switch to a tincture.
If you are using CBD oil, gummies, or another formula that you're swallowing right away, try switching to a tincture instead. Since a tincture is CBD dissolved in alcohol, not oil, you take it a little differently. You put it under your tongue and allow it to absorb through your mouth's outer layers and into your bloodstream. Since it is absorbed into your bloodstream so quickly, it tends to take action faster and may make you feel a little more energized than you feel when you swallow CBD.
CBD can be really sleep-inducing, but it does not have to be. If yours is making you too tired, try switching to a less-potent, energizing formula, taking a little less, and using a tincture over other products. Search for different kinds like a Hawaiian energizing 1000 mg CBD hemp oil.
